Meals on Wheels Service
Our Meals on Wheels Service has become a great success for people living in and around our local community. We provide a hot meal to vulnerable people Mondays to Friday which includes a main meal (and a pudding if required). Also, we have recently extended this service to offer a chilled, or frozen meal, for the weekends delivered with your Friday meal which can be put in your fridge freezer.
Our Meal on Meals service caters for all allergies, and vegetarian and gluten free options are available too. What's more you can choose a mix of different meals on wheels lunches on different days such as vegetarian on some days and regular on others, or you can choose to have just the main meal on one day, and a pudding on others. Just give us your preferences when you register, but you don't need to worry as your choices can be changed every week if you wish. See below on how to register. Our charges per day are:
£6.50 Main meal only
£8.00 Main Meal + Pudding
There is no contract whatsoever for our meals on wheels service so you are not obliged to continue with the service for any longer than you wish. The areas we currently cover are Child Okeford, Sturminster Newton, Bagber, Stalbridge, Hazelbury Bryant, Marnhull, and Shaftesbury.
Our Meals on Wheels Selection
We provide a full range of ready cooked, hot food such as roast chicken, cod & chips, beef ale hotpot, fish dishes, cottage pie and roast pork, to name just a few. Our vegetarian choices include vegetable bake, vegetarian sausages, pastas and cauliflower cheese, plus many more. We also offer a pudding too, some are hot, some cold.

Volunteer Delivery Drivers
We are still looking for voluntary drivers for our Meals on Wheels Service. If you have any free time you wish to fill, and are interested in being one of our drivers we would very much like to hear from you! Drivers will pick up the lunches from us at Community Connections, Sturminster Newton, and deliver to areas listed above. The hours would be between 12 noon and 1:30pm, about an hour and a half, and we deliver Monday - Friday, but if you can only commit to one or two days that's absolutely fine as any help would be greatly appreciated. All drivers will be using their own vehicles. Friends of Stour Connect follow strict governmental guidelines on health & safety so we minimise the risks of spreading covid-19 and thus maintain safe working conditions for all our staff and volunteers alike.
