Community café Re-opening Soon
The Community Café was, unfortunately, closed in March because of the Covid-19 outbreak but is now due to re-open on Thursday the 30th July. All safety precautions will be in place for the re-opening, and therefore a maximum number of 12 persons only will be allowed inside the café. To help facility this we will also expand the outside seating areas so customers can sit outside in the courtyard area to enjoy their drinks and snacks. Hand sanitisers and wipes will also be available at the door and everyone will be encouraged to use these.
The cafe will still offer the same tasty meals, homemade cakes and hot & cold drinks at the incredibly value-for-money prices you have come to expect from us, and you will still be able to get, for instance, a coffee or tea, and a slice of cake for the knockout price of £1.50!
We’ll look forward to seeing all our regular customers returning, as well as, we hope, some new ones. After such a long break we will need all your support to get the café restarted and rolling again. Our staff & volunteers will be working hard to make sure the café continues to be the success it was before the closure and to offer the same friendly and welcoming service. You do not need to be part of any of the Friends of Stour Connect’s projects or services, everyone is welcome! If you live in Sturminster Newton, or are passing by, why not pop in for a snack and a chat with your friends.
The café also offers free WiFi as well as books to read and 2nd hand books to purchase. In the future it will also have music sessions as well as practical Benefits Advice. Re-opening on the same day will be our shop J’Emporium, next to the café, where you can pick up a bargain.
