It's Okay to be different

Our showing of the film, "It's Okay to be Different", originally scheduled for the 8th July, but rescheduled for September 15th, was shown last Thursday. The film was attended mainly by centre users and staff at the Friends of Stour Connect centre. Despite hopes that the film was likely to be very popular, and would attract a sizable crowd from the local community it was, in the end unfortunately, a disappointed turn-out, which is a pity, as the film was well planned and proved popular in other areas. However, the people who did attend found it an interesting and rewarding experience with the film's main ‘raison d’être’ was to feature the difficulties of disabled, and people with learning difficulties, were having to face during the covid lockdowns, and how they coped with the challenges presented, all filmed at the beautiful location of The Minack Theatre on the north coast of Cornwall.
